Award Categories for following Sectors

Any establishment or contractor registered under the BOCW (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996, or the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, or licensed under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, for executing building and construction work, employing 100 or more workers, and having no fatalities during the assessment period, is eligible for these awards. This also applies to Project Management Consultants (PMCs) whose clients meet these criteria. Eligible projects include residential and commercial buildings (such as educational institutions, hospitals, malls, offices, hotels, IT hubs, business parks), roads, railways, airfields, irrigation and drainage systems, power generation, transmission and distribution, oil and gas installations, electric lines, dams, canals, reservoirs, watercourses, tunnels, port facilities, bridges, viaducts, aqueducts, pipelines, towers (including cooling and transmission towers), Metro Rail, Mono Rail, High Speed Rail, and factories.

Any company or factory registered under the Factories Act, 1948, with manufacturing activities commenced two years before the assessment period, is eligible. This includes petroleum refineries, gas processing units, petrochemical complexes, LPG/CNG bottling plants, oil/gas terminal depots, lubricating oil plants, oil/gas pipelines, chemical and chemical product manufacturing, pharmaceutical and medicinal product manufacturing, power generation (thermal, hydro, nuclear), engineering, cement, steel, food and beverage manufacturing, textiles, tobacco products, electronic items, paper and paper products, and rubber and plastic products.

Service Sector:

Any establishment such as corporate offices, banks, research and development centres, warehouses and storage yards, airport operations, ports, shopping malls, universities, colleges and training institutions, hotels, IT establishments, power transmission/distribution stations (11 KV and above), Facility management, and hospitals, registered under the Shop and Establishment Act and operating for a minimum of two years, are eligible for these awards.

Personal Excellence:

Any individual OHSE professional, whether full-time or part-time, who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to workplace health and safety, in the last three years (2022-2024) are eligible for this award. This commitment should exceed the basic requirements of their role, be proactive and preventative, and aim for continuous improvement. Examples include actions to prevent injuries or illnesses, eliminating unsafe conditions or practices, fostering a respectful and supportive work environment, achieving milestones in OHSE performance, implementing innovative ideas to reduce injuries, and digitalising OHSE processes.
